The misfits

The moon was slowly conquering the sky,

I was staring at the people passing by.

From those who rode their expensive car,

to those who toiled hard for one chocolate bar.

From those worried about the charge of their phone,

to those who lived the moment & a phone they don’t own.

From those returning home tired, from their office,

to those still working hard to buy their kids some toffees.

From those teens roaming around, partying and having fun,

to those starving children on roads, what wrong had they done?

From those small families living in a big mansion,

to those large families struggling in a room, this ain’t a fashion.

From those using money like a toy,

to those looted poor, can’t they also enjoy?

From those promoting their community, religion & god,

to those who got killed just for entering the house of their lord.

From those lazy people who are reluctant to even try,

to those handicaps who are dying to run and fly.

And suddenly my chain of thoughts broke,

”what are you thinking?” as my mom spoke.

I replied her with a nod and smile,

on realising the struggle & existence of a million misfits

within every mile.
