Sometimes I take birth
sometimes I’m denied
unsure of my tomorrow
I accept God as my guide.
To survive and grow is a struggle
and all I am taught is silence
if I dare correcting people
I get a look ,so tense.
I bear violence, taunts
and hear you scold
keeping it all to myself
according to the situation I mould.
You visit the temple
so religiously you worship and pray
on the thrones sit the women deity too
can’t respect women ,from temples stay away .
But not all are the same
many love me
they raise me with love
those who don’t I pity.
Excellent ! A true depiction of women .
Hats off dear Amrita, your writup is a correct replica of my writeup which is named by "ATMA PARICHAYA" written by me 2decades before
.thanks
A heart touching rendition regarding the most henious concept of gender bias seen in the soceity.Has to be condemned by all means. I congratulate the author to heve raised this topic so that soceity takes the right step to end this crime.
I...have no words. No words at all.
This is your best poem till date. It gave me goosebumps when I read this. Empowering is the only word I can use to describe this. I loved it to the very core.
